Privacy policy
What the Platrr app collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are
Platrr is a mobile application published by YBKM Tech Ventures LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India (GSTIN 24AAEFY0674Q1ZL), with its registered office at C-4-152, 15th Floor, Orchid Harmony, S P Ring Road, near Applewood Township, Shela, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380058, India.
YBKM Tech Ventures LLP is the data controller for information collected through the Platrr app. This policy applies to the Platrr app only. Our website is covered by the separate website privacy policy.
What we collect
We collect the following categories of information.
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address [confirm: and phone number, if sign-up uses OTP], a username and your password in encrypted form. If you sign in using a third party such as Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider.
Profile information
Anything you choose to add to your profile, including a display name, profile photo, bio and the food preferences you set.
Content you create
The visits and dishes you log, ratings and notes you write, photographs you upload, lists and collections you build, and the messages and recommendations you post in Taste Rooms.
Location
If you grant permission, we use your device location to show cafes near you and to suggest a cafe when you log a visit. You can refuse this permission and still use the app by searching for places by name or area. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your device settings. Device and usage information
Device model, operating system version, app version, language, a device or installation identifier, crash reports and basic usage events such as screens opened and features used. This is used to keep the app working and to understand which parts of it people actually use.
Contacts
[confirm: whether Taste Rooms invites read the device contact list. If they do, this section must say so explicitly and the Google Play Data Safety form must declare Contacts.]
How we use it
- To create and maintain your account and profile.
- To provide the core features: discovery, logging visits and dishes, lists, badges and Taste Rooms.
- To show cafes near you when you allow location access.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and detect fraudulent or fake accounts.
- To fix problems, diagnose crashes and improve the app.
- To reply to you when you contact support.
- To send service messages about your account. [confirm: whether marketing or promotional notifications will be sent, and whether they are opt-in]
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only in these situations.
- Other users. Your public profile, and content you choose to make public or post into a Taste Room, is visible to the people you share it with. Content you keep private stays private.
- Service providers. Companies that host our servers, store images, send email, report crashes and provide analytics on our behalf, under contract and only for those purposes. [confirm: the actual list of third party services and SDKs used, for example Firebase, Google Maps, Google Sign-In, any analytics or crash reporting tool. Each one must be named here and declared in the Play Data Safety form.]
- Legal reasons. Where we are required to by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
- Business transfer. If the business or its assets are transferred, information may pass to the new owner under the same commitments.
Identity verification
Verification is optional and exists so that recommendations come from real people rather than throwaway accounts. If you choose to verify your profile, we collect the information needed to confirm your identity.
[confirm, and treat as high priority: exactly what the verification flow collects, whether any government identity document such as Aadhaar is involved, whether the number or image is stored or only a verification result, which verification provider is used, and how long anything is retained. Identity documents are sensitive personal data under India's DPDP Act and are also a sensitive category for Google Play, so this section must be exact before the app is submitted. Storing full Aadhaar numbers should be avoided.]
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and the content you create for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within [confirm: retention window, commonly 30 days] days, except where we are required to keep records for legal, tax or accounting reasons, or where information has been aggregated so that it no longer identifies you.

Your choices
You can:
- See and edit your profile information in the app at any time.
- Control location, notification and photo permissions in your device settings.
- Choose what is public and what stays private, including which Taste Rooms you join.
- Request a copy of your personal information.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the personal data attached to it.
To make any of these requests, write to contact@ybkmtechventures.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Platrr is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under the age of [confirm: minimum age, commonly 13, or 18 for features involving identity verification]. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and if the change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
